  • Made up of five desert islands, Loreto Bay National Marine Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
  • It contains 39% of the world’s total number of species of marine mammals and a third of the world’s marine cetacean species.
  • From whales and dolphins to sea lion colonies, white sand beaches and clear water, you will feel as in a Jacques Cousteau movie.
  • In fact, he called it the “aquarium of the world.”
  • For history, drive out along a winding rural mountain road to San Francisco Javier Mission. Built in 1758, it is well preserved.
  • And if you must, Cabo San Lucas is a 6-hour drive away through Baja California Sur’s rural mountain roads and towns.
