Alaska’s Hidden Gems – Fish, Wildlife-Watch, Find Your Inner Peace

Alagnak-Lodge-Fishing-Under-Pink-Skies

Fishing provides that connection with the whole living world. It gives you the opportunity of being totally immersed, turning back into yourself in a good way. A form of meditation, some form of communion with levels of yourself that are deeper than the ordinary self.

Alagnak River

Alagnak-River-Alaska-Alagnak-Lodge

The federally designated “Wild and Scenic” Alagnak river, accessible only by float plane, starts in the rugged Aleutian mountains of Katmai National Park and Preserve and meanders west towards the Bering Sea and flows into Bristol Bay. It provides an unparalleled opportunity to experience some of the most spectacular freshwater fishing in the world for all five species of Pacific Salmon.

You find peace not by rearranging the circumstances of your life, but by realizing who you are at the deepest level.

Bears, eagles, moose and more, are easily spotted. Big skies and wild and pristine scenery helps you find your patience and presence and restores your balance.

Alagnak Lodge

Perched above the prime tidewater section of the “Wild and Scenic” Alagnak river, Alagnak Lodge is situated only five miles inland from where the river flows into Bristol Bay. This makes for unbelievable fresh water salmon fishing in some of the world’s largest salmon runs while they are in prime condition. Bears, eagles, moose, wolves, foxes and beavers are easily seen safely up close and personal from the lodge. Included in the all inclusive package are lodging with housekeeping, all meals, steam hut, fully guided fishing by boat and all gear beyond normal personal items. The lodge, accessible only by float plane, is by intent somewhat rustic, but incorporates all modern amenities and is quite comfortable.

Travel and change of place impart new vigor to the mind.
